WHO IS SANTIAGO DEL TORO?

◉

GIMMICK / PERSONA

A haunted matador fused with the spirits of the arena. He treats every match as a ritual, stalking opponents like prey and collecting their “souls” with precise, deadly strikes. Calm, composed, and unnervingly graceful, he embodies the dark elegance of bullfighting with a supernatural twist.
▣

ORIGIN STORY

Santiago was a rising matador prodigy, known for elegance and unmatched skill. During a fateful fight in a centuries-old arena, he was fatally gored by a legendary bull. Instead of dying, Santiago’s soul merged with the dark spirit of the bull and the arena itself, resurrecting him as El Matador de las Almas. Now, he walks the line between life and death, using the souls of fallen opponents to fuel his terrifying power. Rumor has it that anyone who loses to him in the ring risks having their spirit trapped in his dark mist forever.

SIGNATURE MOVES

  • Cursed Charge – Lures the opponent into running at him, then slips aside with matador grace before leveling them with a vicious kick
  • Spectral Passada – A sudden dodge into a snap DDT, like a bull running into the sword.
  • Sinister Muleta – Throws his cape over an opponent’s head, disorienting them before delivering a crushing forearm smash.
  • Eternal Silence – A suffocating cobra clutch, locked in while he stares coldly into the lights above.
  • Falling Shadows - A soaring flying headbutt delivered with eerie calm
⚡

FINISHING MOVE

  • Phantom Cornada
  • (Busaiku Knee)
  • The opponent is dropped to one knee. Santiago charges forward and drives a brutal running knee strike into their face, mimicking the matador’s fatal thrust into the heart of the bull. He often kneels beside the fallen opponent afterward, head bowed, as though delivering last rites.
  • The Last Vigil
  • (Dragon Sleeper with Bodyscissors)
  • Del Toro slips behind his opponent and pulls them backward into a deep Dragon Sleeper before wrapping both legs tightly around their torso with a bodyscissors. Once the hold is secured, Santiago stops wrenching and becomes almost completely still, maintaining constant pressure as his opponent struggles to escape. He calmly waits until they submit or lose consciousness, releasing the hold immediately when the match is over.

TAUNTS / GESTURES

  • Leans casually against the ropes, letting his shadow stretch over an opponent as he observes silently.
  • Raises one hand, fingers curling slowly toward the opponent, eyes fixed, almost like drawing their soul closer.

RING ENTRANCE

The arena drops to black.

Three low Spanish guitar notes crawl through the silence.

On the third, a pale light reveals Santiago Del Toro standing at the entrance, head bowed.

The Ultraviolent Championship rests over his shoulder.

The guitar turns mean.

A slow, vicious Spanish riff strikes through the arena.

Santiago raises his head.

He walks.

Slow. Deliberate.

With every warped repetition of the riff, another distant guitar answers from somewhere in the darkness.

Then the shadows appear.

Faint human figures follow several steps behind the Champion, emerging and disappearing through the mist.

Santiago never looks back.

He reaches ringside and stops.

The music fractures into silence.

The shadows stop with him.

Del Toro looks at the championship on his shoulder before removing it carefully.

Not raising it.

Carrying it.

He enters the ring alone.

The heavy guitar hook returns.

At center ring, Santiago lifts the Ultraviolent Championship with both hands and holds it against his chest.

Behind him, the shadows are gone.

One distant guitar answers the final note.

Del Toro lowers the championship back onto his shoulder.

And waits.
